OH&S

Total Marine Services (TMS) believes that comprehensive OH&S systems are mandatory in ensuring the total health and safety needs of employees. Injury and illness are needless, costly and preventable.

As part of the TMS OH&S strategy, extensive consultation is undertaken with employees, to enable effective implementation of safe work practices and systems that will support the health, safety and welfare of all employees. Employee involvement at all levels is critical in ensuring success.

The TMS-Integrated relationship enhances the support systems available internally and to clients. Integrated's dedicated team of OH&S and Industrial Relations specialists are involved in every aspect of developing and implementing the TMS OH&S and IR programs.

This OH&S team includes TMS' HSE Manager, Integrated's National OH&S Manager and state based Injury Management Coordinators who are supported by additional site-based representatives.

TMS's induction programs ensure that all employees, including the casual workforce, undergo a comprehensive induction which also covers all aspects of HSE policy, procedure and practice. Essential to the ongoing support of this, any changes to HSE policy or practice is communicated throughout the branch network and additional training is implemented when necessary.

Training Matrix
Each vessel has a 'Training Matrix' which identifies all current crew qualifications relevant to each position in compliance with regulatory, industry and company standards.

Contract-specific training needs and client contractual training requirements are also included in the matrix. All crew competencies and qualifications are tracked for currency and any additional training is coordinated through a dedicated HSE Coordinator.

Senior Management responsibility for HSE management is included in TMS' OH&S Policy and Procedures and key performance areas are identified for each area of the business.

OHS&E Training
As a specialist provider in the offshore oil and gas / marine services industry, TMS has also identified several areas of industry specific training through consultation with clients and awareness of industry trends.

Examples of this include;

• Food hygiene;
• Fatigue management; and
• Asbestos awareness.

• Total Venturer - Vessel 3 years LTI free (Dec 2004)
• Total Resource - Vessel 3 years LTI free (Dec 2004)
