Quality Assurance and Accreditation

TMS is committed to quality/health & safety (OH&S/ISM) and environmental management in all areas of the business. Formal policies and procedures are in place to ensure a focus on quality/health & safety and environmental management, continuous improvement and the management of the business to client expectations and statutory/regulatory/legal requirements.

TMS quality/health & safety and environmental principles are as follows:

The Quality/Health & Safety (OH&S/ISM) and Environmental Management System complies fully with the following International Standards:

  • ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management Systems)
  • The ISM Code (The International Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention)
  • OHSAS 18001:2007 / AS/NZ 4801 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) and
  • ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management Systems)

The Company gained Certification to ISO 9002 and the International Safety Management System (ISM) Code after being audited by the American Bureau of Shipping and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority in March 1998.

In October 1999, the company was assessed by AJA EQS and registered against the requirements of BS EN ISO 9002:1994 / AS/NZS ISO 9002.

In May 2002, TMS made the transition to the new standard and was re-certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 requirements including the International Safety Management (ISM) Code.

In April 2008, the company was re-assessed by AJA and re-certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and registered against the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001:2004 /AS/NZ ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 / AS/NZ 4801.

In November 2009, TMS made the transistion from ISO 9001:2000 to ISO 9001:2008.
